So, apparently saffron is the ingredient you include in the name of your restaurant or in the name of one of your "signature dishes" to appear cool and trendy.
Really though, if you can believe the cooking shows, the flavor isn't all that popular. so what's the deal? People dealing with the taste to seem trendy? huh.
isn't it about the time for a different flavor to emerge....what do we think it will be? sage had it's hayday a few years back.... it's gotta be something most people don't like....hmmmm.....

What!?! Sage is awesome! Never had saffron myself.
Ben and I made a potato and apple gratin with sage awhile back. SO YUM!
